AT Hike 2.0 2027 - He's Back on Trail!

Bob decided to restart his walk from Harper's Ferry and continue his original plan of hiking Northbound (aka NOBO). His goal is to keep ahead of the heat and hopefully avoid Norovirus, though that is stalking hikers through the Shenandoah even as I write this. We managed to avoid getting it on our first cruise last month so we're hoping that's a good sign.
He reported that he managed 15 miles on his first day with his heaviest ever (I believe) pack weight. He had lots of food loaded up from last year - including the fresh addition of several Kit Kat and Twix bars. So, every day should get a little easier as his pack gets lighter and he regains his trail legs.
You might notice that his knee is taped up in this photo. He got it checked out and went through some PT and the solution is to keep his knee cap positioned properly with tape. After his first day he had no knee complaints - he just said his feet were sore, which is to be expected.
He was able to complete another 15 miles on day two so he's making his way through Maryland very efficiently. News is limited but, generally, I take no news as good news.
Thanks for your interest and good wishes for Builder, as I will now refer to him, since he's back on trail. Until next time!
