I now have photos to share of this milestone so I'm editing this post to include them. As you can see, Builder is getting a bit scruffier now! Though my father and brothers have all had beards, this is the first time I've ever seen my husband with one.

There's a forest service tower there (I guess for fire spotting purposes). As you can see, the weather was not the best at that time.

(I'm not sure what the medallion is for, exactly, even after zooming in to read what it said.)

Original post:

Yesterday Builder reported that he hiked 12 miles and had "the best view so far." Alas! Sending pictures to me or posting them himself takes too much time and battery space, so you will have to be content with a picture of his most recently completed stained glass piece and my cucumber seedlings which are flourishing.

He also reported that his plan for today was to hike 8 miles to a shelter where he planned to wait out the forecasted storm. This will be the second significant weather event (as far as I know) on his journey. Prayers and positive thoughts are welcome!

Moments ago he texted to say he had hit 100 miles. This is huge, considering that so much of the journey has been up and down. This is NOT the time to think about how much farther he has to go. Let's just celebrate this milestone and hope the weather isn't too problematic.
